Kathryn Eugenia Heaton Memorial Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by the Howell and Heaton families in memory of Kathryn Eugenia Heaton to support a student majoring in the field of nursing. Ms. Heaton became interested in the medical field when as a teenager in the 1940’s, she was diagnosed with tuberculosis and spent time in a sanitarium where she recovered from the disease. She earned her nursing degree, first starting at Allan Hancock College.
